Surrounded by beauty

Today was my first proper day off work in what felt like ages!
It was a nice sunny day so I decided to go into the city to wander around Hyde Park.

Hyde Park was so pretty! The beautiful walkways arched with trees and the flowers scattered accross the lawn made me want to sit down and have a picnic!

Due to the fact that I am hopeless which maps, I walked around the Park about four times before I found what I was looking for - The Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Walk.

The walk took you past many lovely garden statues, The Happiness Fountain, the Serpentine lake and ended at a Memorial Foutain. It was like a big hoop where water flowed down from the highest points on both sides and into a little pool at the bottom where you dip your feet
(ps the water was freezing !)

I walked to the Albert Memorial and the Royal Albert Hall.
The Memorial was huge and very... decorated.
I know Queen Victoria commissed it to be built as a monument celebrating her humble husband's life but I found the thing really gaudy to look at.

About three hours and ten new blisters on my feet later, I was at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The V&A is known as the'decorative art and design' museum so it had lots of really cool and unsual peices to look at.

My favourite part was definitely looking at the Fashion Room which displayed clothing from Elizabethan costumes to Vivienne Westwood gowns, dated 1980s Armani outfits and designs from this years cat walk.

1920's Vogue

It was incredible to look at the progression of fashion throughout the decades !

The dress on the far right was worn by Princess Diana !
